The Rt. Rev. Dr. Hanninton Mutebi, the assistant Bishop of Kampala Diocese became the University Chancellor on 17^th December, 2021. He marks the 2^nd bishop to assume the office of Chancellor since inception.

He presides over all ceremonial assemblies of the university and confers degrees, diplomas, certificates, titles and distinctions of the University. He also performs an overall supervisory role over the university affairs during his four-year term of office as provided by the charter administrative instruments.
