Dorcus Ajok cruises to third position
Uganda’s middle distance sensational runner, Dorcus Ajok has cruised to third position to win bronze medal and cash award at the MTN Kampala Marathon in Kampala
The Ndejje University student concluded the 10km road race over the weekend, winning a cash prize of 0.5million shillings and bronze medal from her exploits. She posted an impressive 36.25 in the MTN international race.
She was smarting from winning another 0.5million shillings last week at the inaugural MTN Northern Region Half Marathon Championship hosted in Gulu.
Ajok is the first Ugandan woman ever to win a medal in the Universidad. She made history further bagging a gold in 1500m in the 2015 Gwanju Games hosted by South Korea.
Previous performance included spurring Ndejje University to its maiden All Africa University overall champions title in 2018 in Ethiopia when she won double gold in 800m and 1500m
She also represented Uganda at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games in Australia where she posted impressive results in her specialty..
