United Nations SDG5 Ambassador Prof. Maggie Kigozi is slated to commission
over 800 graduands at the 21 st B Graduation on March 6, 2020 at the Main
Campus, Ndejje Hill, Luwero.
Over 800 students will be presented for the award of degrees, diplomas and
certificates at the graduation ceremony whose theme: Mainstreaming Higher

Affiliated institutions will present 641 graduands and the rest by Ndejje University,
representing eight faculties – Social Sciences; Business Administration and

Engineering and Survey and Basic Science and IT.
Last year, a total of 908 graduands received certificates, diplomas, undergraduate
and Post graduate degrees. 657 (70%) of all graduates are females while 251 (30%)

Prof Maggie Kigozi is the SDG5 (Sustainable Development Goals) Ambassador
appointed by UN Women and President of the Business and Professional Women
(BPW) Uganda.
She is an accomplished entrepreneur having served the country in many capacities
including being Executive Director of the Uganda Investment Authority.
Meanwhile, the Chief guest at last year’s 20 th B Graduation and Managing
Director National Water and Sewerage Corporation, Dr. Eng. Silver Mugisha
challenged Ugandan industries to finance research in universities in solving the
country’s economic impediments to producing better products.
He said there was an opaque curtain wall between what the industry and
universities were offering in research and development yet the latter was the
engine of innovations.
“The industry want practical solutions and yet the universities were stuck with
academic researchers to simplify achievement of scholarly objectives,” Dr.
Mugisha said.
