A Secure Bring Your Own (BYOD) Framework to Guide and Guarantee Information Security in Business Organisations: A Case of UGACOF Company, Bweyogerere, Uganda.
ABSTRACT:
Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) is a growing trend in business organizations, where employees bring their own devices to work. BYOD is an extension of corporate networks and thus it is essential to secure BYODs from business organizations information (Wang and Vangury. 2014).
Despite its benefits, there are concerns over information security imposed with allowing strategy such as; data loss through un-fore seen circumstances such as; device thief, lack of data confidentiality. This is because there is no BYOD framework to guide and guarantee information security in the business organizations in Uganda.
The study was being carried out at UGACOF Company located at Bweyogerere because it has so many BYOD users among other business organizations in Uganda.
One of the objectives of this research to review what other researchers talked about regarding BYOD framework and existing setup at UGACOF.
In objective two, the Hyper Secure BYOD framework will be designed basing on the needs guide and guarantee information security in business organizations.
In objective three, the researcher validated the frame work basing on the four principles (scalability, utility, efficacy. And quality) which prevails confidentiality and integrity of the organization information.
Therefore, the research developed a Hyper Secure BYOD Framework to guide and guarantee information security in business organization.
