Academic Registrar
Mr. Barnabas M. Sekabembe, the Academic Registrar of Ndejje University. Mr. Sekabembe obtained B. A. Economics M. Sc. Agricultural Economics degree at Makerere University.
KEY ACHIEVEMENTS
He served as lecturer in the department of Agricultural Economics, Faculty of Agriculture, and the department of Economics of Makerere University. Mr. Sekabembe joined the Government of Uganda civil service as an Economist in the Ministry of Cooperatives and Marketing. He attained the level of Deputy Commissioner for marketing and over time has represented Uganda as part of delegation at conferences and negotiations, local and international. He also represented the Ministry on the Boards of Directors of Coffee, Cotton and Produce Marketing Boards. Mr. Sekabembe served as the Executive Secretary of the Uganda Small Scale Industries Association (USSIA), a local, non- government voluntary membership organization of small-scale industrialists to spearhead the development of small-scale industries in Uganda.
Mr. Sekabembe has attended several workshops in relation to agriculture, marketing and trade, membership organizations, small scale businesses and transfer of technology at institutions including; Colorado State University Fort Collins, USA; CBI of The Netherlands, Rotterdam; ATLAS/World Trade Center, USA; The Trade Development Institute (TDI), Dublin, Ireland; The Springfield Center, Durham University, UK.
He has also attended several workshops organized locally by the then USAID – Government of Uganda funded Export Policy Analysis & Development Unit (EPADU) where he worked as a Marketing Specialist (1990-95).
He has to his credit several papers connected with marketing development, trade policy and small-scale enterprises.
