Dean's Message

The Faculty of Education is home to students and lecturers who are not only passionate about teaching and learning, but who also want to contribute to the improvement of education in Uganda and across the globe.

It has often been said that teaching is the profession that teaches all other professions. That is why excellence in teacher training and the provision of world-class educational research and postgraduate programmes are at the top of the Faculty of Education’s list of priorities. The Faculty of Education is one of the few institutions in the country that has the capacity to facilitate the training needs of distance education students, residential day program students, evening program students and weekend program students. We also offer safe and secure educational opportunities for our residential students at Lady Irene campus.

Dean Faculty of EducationThe Faculty conducts its programs from Kampala Campus at Mengo and Lady Irene campus at Ndejje hill however students have the opportunity to access all University facilities and lectures with ease. We are fully committed to making a constructive difference in the lives of children, teachers, schools and communities by designing quality academic and professional programs in Education, and producing graduates of integrity. We also believe that the education sector needs the very best of our people.

That is why we are not only committed to attracting the very best students, lecturers and professors to our faculty, but also to continually strengthen our programmes and to actively seek out opportunities that will enrich the quality of the overall experience of our students. We are very much aware of the fact that we are part of a dynamic cycle in education and we acknowledge that the teachers that graduate from our faculty and the research findings that we share will have a significant impact on the education sector. We do not take this responsibility lightly.

Mr. Semivule George W.
