Ndejje University Plants 1500 Trees, thanks to Fairventures Ug

Ndejje University in collaboration with Fair ventures Uganda, on 3rd March 2023, planted 1500 trees while commemorate the International Forests day at Kiyanda in Luweero district.

The day which was established by the United Nations in 2012 to raise awareness about the importance of forests and the role they play in sustainable development. This year's event was organised under the theme " Forestry and Health" Ndejje University team led by the vice Chancellor Prof Olivia Nasaka Banja highlighted the importance of protecting and conserving forests.

Patience Namara , the Country Director Fairventures also emphasized that human beings are responsible for the sustainability of forests and therefore urged those who attended the event to spread the gospel.

The University's director for Research and Innovation Dr. Primerose Nakazibwe, uploaded Fairventures Uganda for such a great idea and calls for more support towards the University in promoting environmental conservation.

World Forestry day is an opportunity to reaffirm the commitment to the sustainable management and conservation of forests for present and future generation. It is celebrated by individuals, organizations and governments around the world with variety of events and activities include tree planting ceremonies, educational programs and public awareness campaigns.
