As part of the ongoing two-day Pedagogy Training at Ndejje University, staff members are receiving specialized skills in competence-based curriculum delivery and online pedagogical methods<\/strong>, aimed at improving teaching effectiveness and learner outcomes in modern higher education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the technical sessions, Dr. James Mbazira<\/strong> facilitated a detailed presentation on Introduction to Competence-Based Curriculum<\/strong>, where he guided participants through principles of outcome-driven education, learner-centered design, and practical assessment alignment. He emphasized that competence-based approaches require clear learning outcomes, measurable skills development, and continuous feedback mechanisms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a parallel session during the same time block, Mr. Alex Luyima<\/strong> conducted a specialized training on content development using online tools and Artificial Intelligence (AI)<\/strong>. His session focused on how lecturers can design, develop, and enhance instructional materials using digital platforms and AI-assisted tools. He demonstrated practical methods for generating structured learning content, interactive resources, quizzes, and multimedia materials while maintaining academic quality and originality. Staff were guided on responsible and effective use of AI to support not replace professional academic work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Directorate for ICT Support, under Eng. Isaac Kasana<\/strong>, also highlighted the importance of secure and reliable digital learning infrastructure to support pedagogy transformation. Staff were encouraged to integrate technology meaningfully into course delivery rather than using it only as a content repository.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, LMS (Learning Management System) upgrades<\/strong> were presented by Mr. Allan Walusimbi<\/strong>, who outlined new system improvements designed to enhance automated attendance tracking, controlled enrollment by faculty, lecturer self-enrollment into course units, and improved reporting features. These upgrades are expected to simplify course management and strengthen monitoring of learner participation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
