On Thursday, 23rd April 2026, Ndejje University welcomed a delegation from Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) for a high-level engagement aimed at strengthening collaboration under the existing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The MUST delegation comprised Dr. Duncan Sesaazi, Dr. Jimmy Angupale, and Dr. Clement Ajayi, who were received by Dr. Christopher Mayanja, the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic Affairs). The visit commenced with a guided tour of the University\u2019s Herbal Garden and Medical School, offering the delegation firsthand insight into Ndejje University\u2019s growing capacity in health sciences, research, and natural medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the tour, both institutions convened for a strategic discussion focused on the implementation of the MoU. The deliberations highlighted key priority areas that will guide joint efforts moving forward. These include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Complementary Medicine \u2013 advancing research, training, and integration of traditional and modern healthcare approaches.
Agroforestry Revamping in the Cattle Corridor \u2013 promoting sustainable land use and environmental conservation through collaborative initiatives.
Biomedical Engineering \u2013 fostering innovation, training, and development of technologies to support healthcare systems.
Joint Funding and Project Initiatives \u2013 strengthening resource mobilization and partnerships to support shared academic and research goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The engagement also drew from a broader implementation framework that emphasizes collaborative research, student and staff exchange programs, development of academic programs, and establishment of shared facilities such as laboratories, demonstration farms, and medicinal herb gardens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ndejje University expressed appreciation to all participants who contributed to the success of the meeting, including the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic Affairs), Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS), Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences (FEAS), Dr. Wasswa, Sulman, Mr. Taabo, Mr. Kityo, as well as Dr. Birgit and Olaf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This engagement marks a significant step in operationalizing the MoU between the two institutions, reinforcing a shared commitment to innovation, community impact, and academic excellence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
