Finance Manager

Mr. Paul Mark Kayongo, the Bursar of Ndejje University is a career finance professional who has served the university as Head of Finance and Accounting Department. He also serves as a member on the Ndejje University Planning and Tender Boards, and Head of Sports Department Ndejje University.

He holds a Masters degree in Business Administration majoring in Finance and Accounting from Makerere University, Hons BSC degree in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookers University, UK , Hons BBA Accounting degree from Ndejje University and is also a Chartered Accountant.

Key Achievements

His good track record in management and vast wealth of experience transcends financial matters to the sports world with attainment of numerous landmark achievements nationally and internationally.

Mr. Kayongo introduced the woodball sport on the African continent Uganda particularly in the year 2006. He now serves as Uganda Woodball Federation (UWbF), and International Woodball Federation (IWbF) president and vice president respectively. At IWbF Mr. Kayongo is also a member of the finance committee

Mr. Kayongo serves in many other sports bodies in different capacities; Treasurer of the Association of Uganda University Sports (AUUS); Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) Delegate; Finance Committee Member of the Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC); and served as Vice President of the Uganda Handball Federation (UHBF) in the years 2006 – 2008.

Has vast experience in managing University Sports and National teams. He has been the Head of Delegation of Uganda’s National Teams to the World University Games, China, Beijing 2001, South Korea Daegu 2003, Schenzen China 2011, Russia Kazan 2013, South Korea Gwangju 2015, Attended the World University Games, Izmir- Turkey 2005, Bangkok-Thailand 2007, Africa University Games Pretoria , South Africa 2009, Taiwan Woodball Open Championship 2010, , Kazan Russia 2013, and Gwangju South Korea 2015.

Has championed Ndejje University to victories in the Eastern Africa University Games, AUUS Games and FISU Games; Uganda (NUSFU) 2009, Jomo Kenyatta University 2010, Dar-es Salaam 2012 and Uganda Christian University 2014, National University Games; Ndejje University 2005, Uganda Christian University 2007, FISU 2005 Izmir, FISU 2015 Gwangju, South Korea

Publications and Journals

Mr. Kayongo has published articles in University Games sports magazines for Nkumba University 2009, Ndejje University 2011 and Uganda Christian University 2013.

Has also published and presented various papers with; National Council for Higher Education and Learning at Makerere University – Financing and Entrepreneurship of Higher institutions of learning in 2012.

He has published articles in the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda Magazine on the following themes;

  • The need for a strong and effective Public & Private Partnership in the provision of Higher Education 2007.
  • Financing and entrepreneurship in Uganda 2008.

  • Budgeting as a Financial Management tool for Strategic Management 2014.
  • Level of awareness and application of the triple bottom line reporting 2014.

Mr. Kayongo has also published sports articles in Ndejje University Magazine on topics;

  • Government Intervention and Funding of sports in institutions of Higher Learning 2013.

Conferences and Workshops

Mr. Kayongo has participated in several conferences and workshops organized by the Association of Uganda University Sports Forum with the themes; Sports Budgeting at Busitema University 2013, and Sports financing in institutions of Higher Learning at Bishop Stuart University 2012.

Has also attended the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda seminars of 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, and 2015, the International Handball Federation Forum, Elgouna, Cairo, Egypt. 2006. and the World University Sports Forum in Izmir Turkey 2005, International Handball Congress Spain, Montenegro 2007, International University FISU Forum Abu Dhabi, Dubai 2008, International Handball Congress Cairo, Egypt 2008 and World University Scientific FISU Conferences; Taiwan Taipei 2012.
