It was yet another successful week for our engineering students, who joined hundreds of passionate young people driving the renewable energy transition in Uganda.
Upon a special invitation from the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Uganda Section, in partnership with TotalEnergies, 30 Ndejje University students had the privilege of attending the Youth in Energy Conference 2025 at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel, held under the theme “Awareness to Action: Youth Shaping Uganda’s Energy Transition.”
The event brought together top leaders and managers in the energy sector from Uganda, Namibia, and Senegal, who participated in panel discussions and shared valuable experiences with the youth.
The Ndejje University delegation was accompanied by one of their Faculty Research and Innovation Mentors, Mr. Roice Bwambale Kalengyo, who made the discussions more relatable through his experiences in environmental and renewable energy research. His participation further inspired students to align their academic pursuits with real-world sustainability challenges.
Throughout the conference, the students interacted with national changemakers from both the private and public sectors—exchanging ideas and exploring new avenues for research, innovation, and institutional collaboration towards a sustainable energy future.
As Ndejje University, we take pride in supporting our students’ ideas, interests, and aspirations—helping them thrive in their areas of passion, innovation, and impact.
