June 3, 2025 – Namugongo, Uganda
Uganda commemorated Martyrs Day 2025 with thousands of faithful from across the country and beyond gathering at the Namugongo Martyrs Shrine to honor the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering faith of the Uganda Martyrs. Held under the theme “Imitating God’s Goodness by Doing Good,” the celebration was a powerful reminder of the nation’s Christian heritage and the call to live lives of integrity and devotion.
The Rt. Rev. Dr. Henry Luke Orombi delivered a deeply moving sermon, emphasizing the importance of meeting Christ and allowing His presence to transform lives. He called on believers to emulate the Uganda Martyrs by choosing good over evil, walking in humility, forgiving freely, and living with unwavering faith in Christ. The Most Rev. Dr. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba, Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Northern Cluster, whose leadership and coordination made the day a spiritually uplifting experience.
Amidst the worship, prayer, and national unity, Ndejje University stood out as a beacon of Christian witness and academic excellence. With a visible and well-organized presence, the University welcomed pilgrims to its tent where they received information about academic programs, values, and opportunities for study in a faith-based environment.
University representatives engaged with attendees throughout the day—offering assistance, answering inquiries, and sharing in moments of prayer and fellowship. The friendly and supportive interactions mirrored the University’s core values of faith, integrity, service, and excellence.
Participation in such a national spiritual event reflected the institution’s ongoing commitment to nurturing not just intellectual growth, but also moral and spiritual development. Through outreach at Namugongo, Ndejje University reaffirmed its role in contributing to Uganda’s Christian identity while strengthening ties with the wider community.
