On 3rd September 2025, Ndejje University had the honor of hosting Dr. Rosaline Karugonjo Segawa, the Chairperson of the Leadership Code Tribunal in Uganda, as the chief guest at the First-Year Induction Service. The event took place at the university’s main campus in Bombo and marked an exciting milestone for the new students.
Key Highlights of the Event
Dr. Karugonjo Segawa’s sermon centered around the theme “Getting saved from a crooked generation,” drawn from Acts 2:40. She emphasized the importance of freshmen being vigilant during this critical stage of their lives.
She also shared her personal story, highlighting the significance of making informed decisions early in life. She encouraged students to listen to their lecturers and parents while focusing on God to navigate university life successfully.
Dr. Karugonjo Segawa stressed that “the fear of God is the beginning of knowledge and wisdom,” a principle that aligns with Ndejje University’s Christian values.

University Leadership’s Message
Vice Chancellor Rev. Canon Prof. Olivia Nassaka Banja welcomed the first-year students to Ndejje University, emphasizing the importance of exhibiting honorable character and hard work.
Prof. Banja urged the students to excel in every aspect of life while living in the fear of God. The first-year students collectively pledged to uphold these values with God’s guidance.

Unveiling of the Pioneer Law Students
The service also featured the unveiling of the pioneer law students for Ndejje University’s newly established Faculty of Law. This development underscores the university’s commitment to expanding its academic offerings and providing students with diverse opportunities for growth.

Dr. Rosaline Karugonjo Segawa is a distinguished scholar with a Doctor of Laws from the University of Pretoria. She has extensive experience in human rights, having served with the Uganda Human Rights Commission and taught at Uganda Christian University’s Faculty of Law.
