Ndejje University has once again affirmed its place among Uganda’s finest sporting institutions following a remarkable performance at the 20th Association of Uganda University Sports (AUUS) Games. Marked by faith, discipline, and exceptional talent, the games concluded with the university emerging as one of the top performers—carrying home an impressive medal haul and renewing a legacy of excellence built over more than a decade.
The team’s journey to victory began long before the first whistle was blown. As the contingent prepared to depart for the games, the Vice Chancellor, Rev. Canon Prof. Olivia Nassaka Banja, delivered a powerful and timely message that set the spiritual and moral foundation for the competition.
She affirmed that God had blessed Ndejje University and assured the team of His abiding presence, drawing from the Gospel of Matthew to remind them that God goes before His people. She encouraged the athletes to conduct themselves with integrity, humility, and discipline, emphasizing that their talents were a gift through which they could worship God and positively represent the university.
“The victory is for God. We have all prayed for you. Go forth with confidence, and you shall not return empty-handed,” she declared.
These words became both a charge and a prophecy, echoed in every contest and reflected in every medal won.
From the opening whistle to the final buzzer, Team Ndejje demonstrated unity, resilience, and unwavering determination. Competing against some of the strongest universities in the country, the Lions rose to the occasion with courage and consistency.

- Table Tennis (Ladies): Secured gold after a tense and thrilling final against Kampala International University (KIU).
- Bridge (Mixed): Dominated the round-robin stage to claim gold and finish first overall.
- Men’s Team Event: Earned silver following a closely contested final against Uganda Christian University (UCU).
- Swimming and Karate: Delivered consistent podium finishes, significantly boosting the university’s overall standing.
Sport-by-Sport Achievements
Ndejje University recorded gold medals in Athletics (Men and Women), Badminton (Men), Bridge (Mixed), Handball (Men), Karate (Men and Women), Table Tennis (Women), and Woodball (Men and Women). Silver medals were secured in Badminton (Women), Swimming (Men and Women), and Table Tennis (Men), while bronze medals were earned in Handball (Women) and Pool (Men).
The final day of the games was graced by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Dr. Christopher Mayanja, who personally recived trophies . In his address, he reminded the athletes that every effort they make contributes to the enduring legacy of Ndejje University an institution built on excellence, character, and service.

This triumph marks the seventh AUUS Games victory for Ndejje University, following previous successes in 2011, 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, 2023, and now 2025. Such consistency reflects a sustained commitment to sports development, effective mentorship, and a values-driven approach to competition.
Throughout the games, the team was spiritually anchored by Philippians 4:13:
“I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”
As the university community celebrates this historic achievement, gratitude remains at the center of the moment. Every medal reflects not only athletic skill, but also prayer, sacrifice, teamwork, and unwavering support from lecturers, students, alumni, and management.
