It is a moment of great joy and celebration as Rev. Canon Prof. Olivia Nassaka Banja, Vice Chancellor, together with her beloved husband, Rt. Rev. Moses Banja, commemorated a remarkable milestone in their marriage by renewing their vows after 25 years of devoted union.
The elegant and colorful ceremony was held at St. Paul’s Cathedral Namirembe and was officiated by The Most Reverend Dr. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu, Archbishop of the Church of Uganda.
The occasion attracted a distinguished congregation of national, cultural, and religious leaders. Among the notable guests were Queen Sylvia Nagginda, the Queen of Buganda; Jessica Alupo, the Vice President of the Republic of Uganda; as well as the Katikkiro of Buganda. Their presence added great honor to this significant celebration.
The event was further graced by the full participation of the University’s top leadership, including members of top management, Deans, and Heads of Units, reflecting the strong sense of unity and support within the institution.
Marked by heartfelt reflections, thanksgiving, and renewed commitment, the ceremony symbolized a journey built on love, faith, and steadfast partnership. Their union stands as an inspiring testament to the beauty of enduring marriage and the strength found in shared purpose and spiritual foundation.
