In an ongoing effort to strengthen instructional quality and retool its academic staff, Ndejje University hosted a one-day pedagogical workshop under the theme “Assessment and Evaluation in Higher Institutions of Learning” on 24th April 2025. The interactive session brought together educators across disciplines to explore emerging trends in teaching and assessment practices that aligned with national education standards.
The core objective of the workshop was to deepen participants’ understanding of the foundational principles and evolving practices in assessment and evaluation within contemporary higher education. Through insightful discussions and practical sessions, the workshop equipped educators with tools and strategies to enhance the teaching and learning experience across the university.
A key highlight of the day was the in-depth exploration of Bloom’s Taxonomy of Educational Objectives. This globally recognized framework served as a cornerstone for designing effective learning experiences. Educators were guided on how to:
- Develop clear and measurable learning objectives that support student outcomes
- Design fair and meaningful assessments aligned with course goals
- Strengthen teaching methodologies to accommodate diverse learning needs
- Promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills among students
By the end of the workshop, participants walked away with actionable insights that not only enriched their professional practice but also contributed significantly to the university’s mission of academic excellence.
