Today, a section of the Directorate of ICT Services (DICTS) team from Ndejje University visited the Research and Education Network for Uganda (RENU) for a knowledge-sharing engagement aimed at strengthening ICT operations and systems at the University.
The team was warmly received by RENU’s technical experts, who took them through the structure and operations of their advanced ICT infrastructure. The session covered RENU’s approaches to secure and reliable service delivery for research and education institutions across Uganda.
During the visit, the DICTS representatives explored RENU’s network architecture, cybersecurity protocols, systems integration, and real-time monitoring tools. They also learned how RENU supports institutions through cloud services, identity management, and platforms for remote learning and collaboration.
Ndejje University was represented by Mr. Jason Mutumba, Team Leader – Infrastructure and Networks; Ms. Namusisi Shalom, Website Administrator; Ms. Linda Arwa, Ticketing System/Helpdesk Administrator; Mr. Timothy Naikara, Network Assistant; and Mr. Peter Owen Mugabe.
The engagement was highly interactive, with the DICTS team gaining practical insights and discussing ways to adopt similar strategies at Ndejje University to improve ICT resilience and service delivery.
The visit provided a valuable opportunity for institutional collaboration and knowledge exchange. The DICTS team expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality and openness shown by RENU throughout the visit.
