The Faculty of Business Administration at Ndejje University, in collaboration with the Uganda Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA), successfully hosted the annual Insurance Public Lecture. This important event, held as part of an ongoing partnership between Ndejje University and IRA, is aimed at creating greater awareness of the role of insurance companies in Uganda.
The Uganda Insurance Regulatory Authority, the regulatory body overseeing all licensed insurance companies in the country, facilitated the lecture, highlighting the importance of insurance in today’s economy. The event provided students with valuable insights into the operations of insurance companies and introduced them to various insurance policies that are relevant in both personal and professional spheres.
Through this platform, IRA emphasized the critical role insurance plays in financial planning and risk management. Students were encouraged to consider pursuing courses in insurance, as the industry offers a wealth of career opportunities. The collaboration between IRA and Ndejje University is part of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in which the IRA has committed to conducting this lecture annually, reinforcing the importance of building insurance knowledge among the student body.
The lecture drew attention to IRA’s efforts to engage and educate the youth about the insurance sector and the role they can play in shaping its future. This partnership with Ndejje University is one of many initiatives designed to bridge the gap between education and industry, fostering informed future professionals in the insurance field.
