It is my great pleasure to welcome you to Ndejje University and to congratulate you upon your admission to the University. We are delighted that you have chosen Ndejje University as the institution where you will pursue your higher education and begin an important chapter in your academic and personal development.
As we begin this semester, we are guided by our theme, “Focusing on a New Thing,” drawn from Isaiah 43:19. This theme reminds us to look ahead with faith, courage, purpose, and optimism. University is a new chapter in your life, presenting new opportunities to learn, discover your potential, build meaningful relationships, develop new skills, and prepare for your contribution to society.
I encourage each one of you to focus on the opportunities before you, embrace positive change, and remain open to learning and growth. Do not allow past challenges or failures to define your future. At Ndejje University, we believe that every student has the potential to achieve greatness when given the right environment, guidance, discipline, and determination.

As you begin your journey at Ndejje University, it is important that you understand and embrace the identity and values of the institution of which you are now part.

Our Mission is to provide Christian-based teaching, learning, research and outreach that contribute to the transformation of society.
Our core values guide how we learn, work, serve, and relate with one another. These include Christian values, integrity, excellence, innovation, professionalism, respect, teamwork, and service.
I encourage you to make these values part of your everyday University experience. Your time at Ndejje University should not only lead to the acquisition of an academic qualification but should also shape your character, strengthen your values, develop your leadership abilities, and prepare you to become a responsible and productive member of society.
ACADEMICS
Academics are the primary purpose for which you have been admitted to the University. Your success will require commitment, discipline, regular attendance, effective time management, and active participation in the learning process.
I encourage you to attend lectures and practical sessions regularly, complete assignments on time, participate actively in class and group discussions, and make effective use of the academic support services available to you.
The University provides access to learning resources, including library services, electronic resources, laboratories, and digital platforms to support teaching, learning, research, and innovation. You are encouraged to make full use of these resources throughout your academic journey.
You should also familiarise yourself with your programme requirements, academic regulations, examination guidelines, and the University’s policies and procedures. Prepare adequately for all assessments and examinations and, at all times, maintain academic integrity.
The University has zero tolerance for examination malpractice and other forms of academic dishonesty. Any student found engaging in examination malpractice shall be subject to disciplinary action in accordance with the University’s regulations.
DISCIPLINE AND SOCIAL LIFE
University life presents you with greater independence and responsibility. As young adults, you will encounter new experiences, friendships, opportunities, and challenges. I encourage you to exercise wisdom and sound judgement in the decisions you make and in the company you keep.
Your parents, guardians, sponsors, and families have made significant sacrifices to support your education. You therefore have a responsibility to use this opportunity wisely and to conduct yourself in a manner that protects your wellbeing and academic future.
You are expected to abide by the University’s rules and regulations and to respect fellow students, staff, visitors, and University property.
Avoid behaviours that may endanger your life, compromise your academic progress, or negatively affect your future. These include substance abuse, irresponsible sexual behaviour, theft, violence, riots, mob justice, bullying, harassment, and any other form of misconduct.
The University provides support services to students facing personal, academic, emotional, or social challenges. If you require guidance or psychosocial support, please reach out to the appropriate University support offices, including the Dean of Students’ Office and University counselling services.
Do not hesitate to seek help whenever you need it.
SAFETY AND SECURITY
The University is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for all students, staff, and visitors.
Nevertheless, security is a shared responsibility. Every student is encouraged to remain vigilant, take reasonable precautions, safeguard personal belongings, and promptly report any suspicious activity, security threat, or incident to the appropriate University authorities.
Students residing in hostels or other accommodation facilities outside the University premises should exercise particular caution and follow the safety guidelines provided by their accommodation providers and the relevant authorities.
Always look out for one another and avoid situations that may put your safety or that of others at risk.
DIGITAL RESPONSIBILITY
As a modern University, Ndejje University continues to utilise digital technologies to enhance teaching, learning, communication, and access to University services.
You are therefore encouraged to use the University’s digital platforms responsibly and primarily for academic and legitimate purposes. Protect your passwords and other account credentials, do not share your login details with others, and remain cautious when accessing online content or responding to suspicious messages.
You are also expected to demonstrate responsible behaviour on social media and other digital platforms. Remember that your online conduct can have academic, professional, and personal consequences.
Use technology to learn, innovate, connect, and create opportunities for yourself and others.
EMBRACING THE NEW THING
As you begin this new chapter, I challenge you to focus on the new thing that God is doing in your life.
Discover new knowledge. Develop new skills. Build new relationships. Explore new ideas. Participate in research, innovation, sports, leadership, community engagement, and other activities that contribute to your holistic development.
Do not be afraid to ask questions, seek guidance, try new things, or learn from your mistakes. Your University journey will not always be easy, but every challenge can become an opportunity for growth.
Remember that greatness is not achieved in a single moment; it is built through consistent effort, discipline, character, faith, and service.
